A book by Ted McGill
The SEVYN Pillars of Optimisation
A referenced guide to the seven areas of health that research links to ageing. Every intervention has an evidence grade and linked sources, and the book says plainly where the evidence is thin.
Education only. Not medical advice and not a clinical recommendation. Based on published research and the author's own experience.

The seven pillars
Seven areas, one map.
Cellular Integrity
What your genes can and cannot tell you, what epigenetic clocks measure, and which blood proteins a pathology lab can already report.
Metabolic Mastery
How food, insulin and mitochondria work together, and which markers a pathology lab reports and what they are thought to show.
Physical Architecture
Muscle, bone and movement as the structure you keep for decades: what the research says, and how to train sensibly at any age.
Neurological Vitality
Sleep, stress physiology and brain health, including what the research says about memory and thinking.
Biochemical Environment
How to read a blood panel, how the body's chemical signalling works, and the gut. Written to prepare you for a conversation with your doctor.
Regenerative Capacity
Fasting and the body's repair systems, then an honest, graded look at newer therapies: what has human trials behind it and what does not.
Environmental Intelligence
Light, temperature, tracking and the design of an ordinary week, ending with a plan for turning what you have read into habits.
What is inside
Built to be checked.
How claims are graded

Questions
What do I get?
A PDF you can read on a phone, tablet or computer. Your copy is available to download from your account as often as you need it.
Is this medical advice?
No. The book is education. It is based on published research and on my own experience. It is not a clinical recommendation, and I am not a medical practitioner. It does not tell you what medication or supplements to take, and it gives no drug or supplement doses. It does quote general food targets from guidelines and trials, such as protein per kilogram. Talk to your doctor before you change anything about your health care.
Who is it for?
Adults who want one organised, referenced overview of the research on ageing and health, and a structured way to decide what to read about next.
How are claims checked?
Every intervention carries an evidence grade, and sources are linked so you can read the paper yourself. Where the research is early, mostly in animals, or not supported, the book says so.
What if something goes wrong?
If your file does not arrive or will not open, email ted@sevyn.com.au and we will fix it. Your rights under Australian Consumer Law apply to the book.
Nothing on this page or in the book is medical advice. See the medical disclaimer.
